School Norms

Guidelines for Parents:

  •  “Home is the first school and parents are the best teachers”. No teacher can substitute the parents. No school can be an alternative for home. The school and the teachers are only an extension of the educational process which the parents have already begun at home. Hence, we look forward to maximum co-operation and understanding between parents and the school authorities which will enable us to bring out the best in every child entrusted to us and make the child a superior leader, achiever and discoverer. Parents are specially requested to go through all the rules and guidelines carefully and co-operate with the school in maintaining punctuality, regularity, discipline and courteous behaviour among students.

  • During the working hours, if a parent wishes to meet his child or teacher for some urgent reasons, he/she shall kindly approach at the School Reception and not go to the class or child directly.
  • Parents are requested to look into their child's progress in academics and in the overall development and interact with the school regarding the same. Also encourage the ward to actively participate in the co-curricular activities to develop their overall personality. Any pupil desiring to be exempted from P.T. or games must produce a Doctor's Certificate to the effect that he/she is physically unfit to take part in them.
  • Discourage private tuition. Let the student develop independent thinking and self-confidence by the scientific method of coaching provided by the school.
  • Do not send your ward who is suffering from infectious & contagious diseases to the school.
  • Parents are required to provide the ward with school uniform, bag, text books, note books, pen, pencil etc. on time. The name of the class and the section of the pupil should be clearly marked on his/her belongings. Instruct them to bring books to the school as per the time table only.
  • Please ensure that your ward comes to school in neat and tidy uniform and adheres to the code of conduct in the school.
  • Make use of communication record of his / her diary to convey messages to teachers. Please check diary for communication, if any, conveyed by the teacher.
  • Parents are requested not to encourage any character assassination of the teachers or the management in the presence of their children. If they have any complaints, they may kindly bring it to the notice of the Principal.
  • Excursions, Educational trips / study tours, adventure camps etc organized by the school are compulsory for boys and girls.
  • Whenever there is a change in address / phone number, kindly inform the school office about the same.
  • Parents are requested to be courteous and polite, when they visit the school. If the parents are found interfering in the smooth functioning of the school, the school authorities will not be able to retain their child in the school.
  • Presents for members of the staff and any gathering in their honor also requires the prior sanction of the Principal.
  • Parents / Guardians are requested not to develop personal / mutually beneficial contacts with any STAFF / SUPERVISOR / TEACHING AND NON TEACHING STAFF. However they can be contacted through the School Reception. If a Parent / Guardian develops direct/mutually beneficial/unofficial contact with any staff of our institution, the Management is not responsible for any consequence due to such contacts.
  • The Management and the school authorities are not responsible for the loss of any valuable articles belonging to the students. It is the responsibility of the students to take care of their belongings. Pupils below Class V should not wear wrist watch in the school.
  • Parents are requested not to disturb the regular rhythm of the school by their frequent visits or phone calls.
  • Visitors and Parents are requested to be seated in the reception area. The reception is a silent zone and should be respected as such.
  • Parents are requested to maintain a separate file for their child/ children. This should contain all the details, communication and performance record of the students(s) from the time of his/her admission.
  • Please note that the promotion of a student to the higher class is based on the total performance in various tests and examinations held during the year.
  • Utmost care and precaution is taken to protect children from injury while playing. However in the event of any mishap, the school does not accept legal responsibility. Immediate first aid will be administered and the pupil involved will be taken to the nearby hospital.
  • Any misconduct, misbehavior, bad influence and acts of indiscipline by a student and if accounted to be in any way detrimental to the interest of the class / faculty / staff and to the school in general will lead to the Principal asking the parents / guardian to withdraw their ward.
  • The Principal has the right to suspend or require the withdrawal of any pupil without having to state any reason provided he is satisfied that such a step is necessary in the interest of the school.
  • If a parent feels that their child is not making the desired progress, they are free to contact the co-ordinator concerned with prior appointment.
  • Enrolment in Translam Academy International implies the willingness of Parents to comply with the requirements and regulations of the school. The school reserves the right to add, delete or modify the rules/ recommendations listed above.

Guidelines for Students:

“Discipline and Virtue” is the hallmark of every Translamian. We expect that students, entrusted to our care, will conduct themselves to the satisfaction of all concerned and leave this school as God fearing young men and women and be the pride of the school, their parents and the society.

  1. Students should reach the school well in time. Once the gates are closed, they will not be allowed to enter.
  2. School uniform is compulsory on all school days and at the school functions. Children must come neatly dressed in proper uniform and in polished shoes.
  3. Every student should carry the School Diary and ID Card with him / her daily.
  4. Children suffering from infectious diseases will not be permitted to attend the school, until they are fully recovered and are supported by the medical fitness certificate.
  5. Students should respect the beauty of the classrooms and of the school and keep the premises clean. They should take care of the school property.
  6. Students should not run, play or shout inside the classrooms. Silence is also to be maintained while passing along the corridors in well-framed lines keeping to the left.
  7. Shouting, whistling and using abusive language is strictly prohibited. Bullying and using foul language will be treated as an act of Indiscipline.
  8. Firing crackers and splashing colors in school premises is a gross misconduct. Indulgence in these will result in expulsion from the school.
  9. Students are not allowed to bring valuable articles like watches, ornaments, expensive pens and excessive money to the school. The school will not be responsible for any loss.
  10. Please ensure that no sharp, pointed, or any dangerous articles are brought to school. Objectionable reading material is also strictly forbidden. Strict action will be taken against students, found doing so.
  11. Electronic Gadgets and Mobile Phones are not permitted in the school campus. If anyone is found carrying one, it will be confiscated.
  12. Money should not be lent or borrowed, nor should articles be exchanged among the students. Collection of funds for any purpose without the written permission of the Principal is forbidden.
  13. Students are not allowed to leave the school campus without the permission of the Principal.
  14. The school authorities reserve the right to take appropriate disciplinary action including dismissal, against any student whose conduct is detrimental to moral tone, discipline and educative atmosphere of the school.
  15. Students are expected to do their assignments diligently. Doubts may be cleared during classes.
  16. Students should be polite and courteous in work and deed. They should greet one another and also greet their parents, teachers, and elders. They should be gentle and considerate to their Companions. Students should behave in a refined manner. Wherever they go, they should remember that the school is judged by the good conduct and good manners of its pupils.
  17. Attendance during Republic Day and Independence Day is mandatory for the students of classes I-VIII. No leave will be sanctioned on these days.
  18. Teachers are not to be presented with gifts on any occasion.
  19. Children will not be awarded 100% Attendance Award in the Academic Year, if a child takes half day / early exit for more than 3 days in a year.
  20. Any damage done to school property will attract financial penalty.
  21. Maintain discipline in School Bus.
  22. Students visiting the ‘SICK BAY’ must carry the school diary and get it duly filled by the Nurse.
  23. Students must converse with each other and teachers in English language only.

DISCIPLINE CODE

  1. The following acts and conduct on the part of the students will account misconduct.
  • Misbehaviour towards teachers or any other employee of the school.
  • Intentional disturbance in the classes.
  • Absent from class without permission of the Class Teacher / Subject teacher / Coordinator.
  • Propagating Communal / Caste feeling among students.
  • Theft / Pilferage of School / Students property.
  • Bullying / Misbehaving / Teasing girl - students or juniors.
  1. For any type of misconduct, school shall take action as per observation, which may involve :
  • Oral warning to the student.
  • Written warnings, not more than two.
  • Suspension of one day from Class / School.
  • Final written warning in case of no improvement.
  • Suspension for one week or more.
